i have a new light fitting with 2 ports, i have 5 wires, 1-black 1-white 2-red 1 green/yello. now what?

1 cable consisting of 1 red 1 black 1 green/yello, 1 cable consisting of 1 red 1 white. new light fitting has 2 ports and a screw on frame to attach earth to. how do i determine what wires go into the 2 ports? or do i need a different fitting with more ports?

A new range hood has 2 white wires - from light socket & from motor, 1 black wire from light. How connect?

Old range hood had just 1 white & 1 black to obviously connect to the 1 of each coming out of the wall. Installation instructions say only "connect the electrical".

The white wires are connected to neutral. Just take the two white wires and connect it with the white lead from your power source. Black goes to black from the power source.

my new fixture light doesnt turn off? there are 3 black wires, 2 white wires and 1 green wire in the ceiling.?

the new light fixture has 1 blk, 1 wht and 1 copper wire. i connected blk wire from light to 1 blk wire to ceiling ( this was the only one that worked) and 1 white to 1 white wire in ceiling (only one that worked)...now the light doesnt turn off??? this is a 3 light bulb fixture, the old fixture was a 1 bulb. when i removed the old fixture it was connected white to white by a screw, and the ground wire was connected to light as well by a screw. the black wires were taped and tucked in celing not even connected??? i tried all 3 blk wires seperately but light didnt come on with 2 of them; i did the same with the 2 white one. there are only 2 specific wires that work. THE WALL switch has a black and green wire connected to it.

The black wires tucked in the ceiling was part of the switch loop. You have a black feeder which was connected to the black side of the switch loop. This means one white wire is hot an the other ground. You will have 2 white wires that provide power to the light. The reason the light wouldn,t turn off is because you bypassed the switch.

I am installing 2 new lights with Switch and power going directly to 1 of the light box. Black and white wire.

Firstly i ran a black and white from one light fixture (#1) to the other light fixture (#2) then another black and white to the light switch from #2 light fixture. And there is the power source in light fixture #2. How to connect all the wires in light fixture #2 and at the switch, thank you.

Assuming the power source is a black and white wire, the white wire is your ground, connect it to the white wires going to each light and push them in the box out of the way. Connect the white wire going to the switch to the black wire from your power source and connnect the white wire to the top screw on your switch. Connect the black wire to the bottom screw on your switch and in the # 2 light fixture the black wire from the switch will connect to each black wire to your light fixtures. Before you start be sure the power souce is turned off in the breaker box.
