Don't do anything too childish. Pick something that can grow with her like flowers, a certain color, or polka dots. Keep the walls light so that the room is soothing. Light blue, light green, a pale yellow or pink would be nice too. Anything too bright is just annoying no matter what room it is. Don't do anything like wallpaper that is semi-permanant. You don't want to be ripping off wallpaper in a couple years when she decides she wants something else. Buy things that can easily be removed and replaced without it costing tons of money.
